Summer Camps

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo offers summer camp adventures that share the wonders of wildlife and wild places in fun and exciting ways. Campers meet animals up close, explore the outdoors, interact with zookeepers, make treats for the animals, design cool crafts and more!

Please Note: Optional Extended Day Camps are offered every week except for weeks 3 and 8. Learn more. To book these camps, look for the "Extended Day Camp" option within step 4 when you choose "Book Now!" to register.

Who do your kids look like? In many animal species, babies look like miniature adults while others look completely different. Your camper will have a blast exploring the different babies in the animal world, while discovering mammal, bird, reptile, amphibian and insect life cycles.

Has your child ever wondered what it’s like to be a zookeeper? This special two-week camp gives them the opportunity to take a closer look inside zoos. They’ll discover how to take care of exotic animals and what it takes to save endangered species from extinction. During this extended session, campers will meet with operations staff to learn more about exhibit design as well as discover the many different career options zoos have to offer.

Two-week camps allow that extra time for campers to dive deeper into a topic! These sessions run Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the first week and Monday-Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the second week. There is no camp during the day on Thursday. The optional overnight starts at 7 p.m. on Thursday and finishes on Friday at noon.
